Indulge Tuesday December 28th, 2010 Our ads have been on an international tour, and the latest stop is Germany. The German edition of Lürzer’s Archive featured an image by Martin Bauendahl, who is based there. For this image, we chose the German text “Laß dich verwöhnen,” which means something like “indulge yourself.” This photo was originally shot for the online fashion magazine Teaser, founded by Thomas Meyer. Meyer presented Martin and his team with a vision for a shoot, which would represent commonly held ideas about models. Martin listed some examples: “they don’t eat, they take drugs, they are rich, etc.” They discussed the possible situations with stylist Hendrik Schaulin and put together an interesting series of images. I asked Martin if there was some kind of big idea behind the photos; an ironic analysis of the way the fashion industry transforms people, perhaps, or a sophisticated satire of popular prejudices about the field. “To be honest,” Martin admitted, “it’s more for funny images.” That’s okay by me. Enjoy some bonus funny images at the Teaser website (in German, too). -Asad Submitted By asad at 9:00 am - Publicity 0 comments ShareThis Back to top
